We inform you that, in accordance with the circular of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs & Insular Policy, with protocol number 2322.3/79893/2023, sent on 14.11.2023, on the subject: "Additional measures during the transportation of alternative fuel vehicles (AFVs) with passenger ships", and in order to limit and prevent the risk of fire as well as the release of toxic gases in the garage area, the following measures will be applied on the Adriatic Sea routes:
- Alternative Fuel Vehicles (AFVs) of passengers cannot travel on board our Ro-Pax vessels in the Adriatic Sea as "unaccompanied".
- Alternative Fuel Vehicles (AFVs) with damage in their fuel system and their tanks or accumulators will not be accepted on board if these have not been removed. It is exclusively the owners’ responsibility to ensure that the vehicle does not suffer damage to its power system or batteries.
Alternative Fuel Vehicles (AFVs) include:
- Hybrid and purely electric vehicles that carry accumulators (batteries).
- Vehicles using liquefied and compressed gaseous fuels.
