Kefalonia – it is the largest island of the Ionian Sea and is located in its center, between Zakynthos and Ithaca.
It is famous for its impressive natural landscape, the steep white cliffs, the crystal‑clear waters, and the dense forests of Mount Ainos, the only national park on a Greek island, home to the rare black fir.
Kefalonia is known for its stunning beaches, such as Myrtos, Antisamos, and Xi, as well as its unique natural phenomena: the Melissani cave with its underground lake and the Drogarati cave, renowned for its remarkable acoustics.
From the 1970s onward, the island has developed into a particularly popular tourist destination, attracting visitors from all over the world. At the same time, the picturesque capital Argostoli and the cosmopolitan village of Fiskardo combine traditional architecture, history, and modern hospitality.
