Igoumenitsa

Igoumenitsa - is the capital of the region of Thessprotia and a strategic point for tourism and commerce in northern Greece. Situated on the cove of the bay of Thessprotia it lies just across the island of Corfu being the closest port to Italy with direct connections to Brindesi, Bari and Ancona. 

A direct road network connects it to Athens (480km), Thessaloniki (470km) and Ioannina. The closest airports are those of Ioannina, Corfu and Preveza (Aktio). Areas of great tourist interest are Syvota, Corfu, Parga, the Ionian islands while a number of important archaeological sites can be easily visited from Igoumenitsa.
