PORT OF ZEEBRUGGE IS SELECTED FOR THE NEW SCOTLAND-EUROPEAN CONTINENT SUPERFAST FERRIES SERVICE

The Board of Directors of Attica Enterprises is pleased to announce that it has selected the port of Zeebrugge for the new Superfast Ferries service linking directly Scotland with the Continent, due to start in May 2002.
 
The port of Zeebrugge in Belgium, was selected as the best qualified and the most conveniently located port to serve tourism and freight needs.
 
With the new Superfast service, Scotland will now be connected to mainland Europe with daily overnight crossings between the port of Rosyth in Edinburgh and Zeebrugge with a journey time of only about 16 hours.
 
It should be reminded that last September, following extensive assessment by a steering Group established by Scottish Enterprises, Superfast Ferries was selected among 42 expressions of interest to operate the first direct service between Scotland and the European Continent with a pair of modern and fast car-passenger ferries.
