Next stop is Akrata, a picturesque seaside town offering a wide range of activities. From hiking in the nearby mountains to swimming in the refreshing waters of the Corinthian Gulf, there is something for everyone. Make sure to try some traditional sweets such as loukoumades or baklava with a sea view from the local cafes at the promenade.

Continuing your road trip to the mountainous side of Achaia and at a near distance from Akrata, you will find the picturesque Lake Tsivlou, a hidden gem nestled in the mountains. The lake offers alpine scenery, and you can take a peaceful stroll around its banks or hike up to the nearby mountains for a breathtaking panorama. After lake Tsivlou, head to Kalavrita, the area's biggest and most famous town.

Kalavrita is a charming mountain town known for its rich history and natural beauty. Whether you are willing to arrive here with the cog railway or your car is a must-see stop! Explore the town's charming streets and visit historical landmarks such as the Kalavrita Holocaust Memorial and the Monastery of Agia Lavra, where the Greek Revolution began. In the winter months, Kalavryta is also a popular ski resort, with several ski slopes in the area and hiking options!

Two more towns not to be missed in the area are Zachlorou and Planitero. In Zachlorou, you can visit the historic Mega Spilaio Monastery, one of the most important religious sites in Greece and then admire the natural beauty of Planitero. It is a charming mountain village surrounded by dense forests and stunning waterfalls. Take a hike in the nearby mountains, enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, or try some delicious local specialities such as wild boar stew or roasted lamb.

Two more stops not to be missed in the area are Zachlorou and Planitero. Zachlorou, built in the gorge of Vouraikos, rewards those who choose to make a stop.  Starting from the famous railway station, explore this picturesque village with the stone houses and the cobbled streets, which are a great example of the architectural tradition of the Greek countryside.  The cinematic scene completes the sound of the river that flows under the bridge in the village center.

Another famous stop in Zachlorou, is the historic Mega Spilaio Monastery, one of the most important religious sites in Greece. Built in 362 AC, it is one of the most historic and remarkable monasteries in Peloponnese.

Planitero is the second must see village in the area. Known for its natural beauty, it will charm you at first sight. Surrounded by dense forests and stunning waterfalls, it is a starting point for many exciting hiking trails. Plane trees above the headwaters of the Aroanios river, create the perfect set up for an easy walk in the nature.

Planitero is also famous for its local cuisine. At your visit there, do not forget to try some delicious local specialties such as wild boar stew or roasted lamb.

Final stop before heading back to Patras is the beautiful beach of Kalogria at the Ionian Sea. With crystalline waters and golden sand, it is the perfect spot to relax and soak up the sun before returning to Italy.
